SEO Seminar Rationale

loisG

will always wear slacks

We had our last shot to facilitate our required seminar for this semester last February 26, 2011. Though some things didn’t turn out so good because of the major financial problem, nevertheless we gave our best shot to accommodate our speaker who’s fresh from Bohol (Thanks to our marketing topics professor) and to everyone who came.

I was assigned to give the rationale for the seminar so I think I have to post it here before my files get crashed and I have to format things. I hate reformatting the pc or any hard drive that contains files that are necessary.

R A T I O N A L E

What do we call this new genesis that’s eating our world today? This is called the Facebook generation. Ask anyone irregardless of age and they have a Facebook account, thanks to Mark Zuckerberg, founder of the said social networking company and currently the world’s youngest billionaire.

At present, there are 500 million active users in Facebook and close to a billion photos are uploaded every month and 60% of users stalk their EXes. What a fun fact.

Accordingly most of us would spend time in front of the PC stalking anyone we’d stumble on the news feed, doing nothing, and probably forgetting our homeworks due to Facebook exploration.

NOT SO NICE.

So today, since you are here, we are going to find out what can we just do with the internet aside from killing time with Facebook and wasting our time surfing the net for nothing.

This seminar would hopefully gear us up with the technology on the rise in the business world. We should be creative. Competitive. Innovative. Considering all these accelerated technologies in almost every aspect of business from operations to customer service, the internet is ultimately crucial. We should not allow the internet to use us. We, ourselves must know how to use the internet wisely.

WISE in a sense that we should not just leave Mark Zuckerberg earning billions of dollars because of us; we should also know how to make money online and transact businesses virtually. There are a series of benefits that the internet has only that we don’t know how to use such.

This search engine optimization is just one category that could open our minds about earning electronically. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE.  Do not worry if you are not so skillful when it comes to computers or the internet.

I salute you for that. Because today, this talk will teach you some skill you never learned inside a four-walled class room.

Together with the our professor, Ma'am Carina and the speaker Ms. Dalareich

I will miss you guys.  See us all marching on the 2nd. (that is… IF WE ALL PASS HAHA)

New Birth.

I can’t remember when was the last day I customized any of my blog sites. But now I felt relieved. Once again, I have designed and made an outlet of my artistic vent for layout and design. or whatever you call that. I just want my face stuck on the background. Anyway. I am going to sleep now. and I don’t know if my professor in marketing topics is going to visit my page… I don’t even know what subject to write. I just want to keep this thing updated. Because I think I have time for blogging now.

AND I’M HUNGRY. I want to drink coffee. A creamy one. Just like this:

Oh LOVE.

Interview session: Ask and you shall receive.

The semester is just starting and yet we are packed with lots of work to do. I don’t know if I could survive but hopefully I could.

Things to do:

1. Find company for direct selling subject/practicum (no to Avon please. my classmate and I are laughing about the brassieres sold)

2. Give letter to manager for Research.

3. ORGANIZE NOTES (my notes are all mixed up they look like a dump site)

4. EAT LESS. (you’re getting fat LOI)

5. Update blog as often as possible.

6. Always Smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

okay. so where do we start?

I think I’ll start with number six. It is the hardest one. The rest… they’re all easy.

There is a reason to celebrate today though it isn’t my birthday or any from my family and friends.

IT’S MONDAY YET I HAVE NO CLASSES. YAY!!!!!!!!! CHEERS TO THAT!!

Last Friday our 2 family friends came at night to have dinner with us and to have bonding time. Our parents really loved them and treated them as their kids. We were like friends since I was in my sophomore year in high school and they were in college.

We are so comfortable having them around at home. We do a lot of staying late at night, watching movies and EATING OUT. Believe me, I always grow fat when they spend nights at home hahaha. The food stuff never ends.

We met 6 years ago in a religious seminar where Bernie was some kid that hated going there with his brother and was just forced to attend to by his mom (SAME THING WITH US). and Marj was a member of the community sponsoring the seminar. My brother, sister and I made lots of friends at the seminar but it ended up that Marj and Bern were the only people that were left to be friends with us THIS CLOSE until now. Others just sort of… “Hey where did they go??”

Man. We haven’t met Bern for like a year, and Marj hadn’t spent sleepovers with us for a long time so we treated this as a big reunion. Sad part is today – Bern is leaving. and Marj had left yesterday. I always hated goodbyes.

I'll always miss you
Burning Bern

I can’t find an image of Marjorie. Her profile picture in Facebook is some male Korean actor. Tee-hee.

Anyway. We’ll always miss the two of you.

Bern went home with lots of stuff from us. He was so grateful of the religious items we sent him because I can see it in his eyes and it touched me when his eyes became watery when we said “You’re gonna need that when you’ll leave for Singapore,”

“Godwillingly,” He replies.

Looking forward for the next sleepover!
